Monday - discussion of memoir movie - self evaluation Speaking and Listening in groups. Homework: Google Classroom survey on Reading Strategies.

Tuesday/Wednesday - Reading Strategies vocabulary; Pre-Testing time SAT type Reading test. Results will be used for group placement.

Thursday/Friday - Learning target for Reading Strategies; Strategy overview - document in single subject notebook. First strategy presented.

Creative Writing week of October 31

Monday - Grammar Girl - Cemetery vs Graveyard; 2 sentence scary stories

Wednesday - Conflict in writing - internal and external struggle

Friday - Short story assignment; Work on protagonist and antagonist character sketches on Google Classroom.

Monday - Final draft due of Memoir. Below is the rubric for grading the memoir.

Monday - Work on rough draft of your memoir.

This is the scale for the final draft of the Memoir.

The final draft is due October 24

Tuesday/Wednesday - Work on rough draft. Optional: submit to Luttke in Google Classroom for feedback. 

PSAT Wednesday morning.

Thursday/Friday - Active/Passive voice - SAT writing practice and review. Work on corrections and revisions from Luttke.

Creative Writing week of October 17

Monday - work on individual Character Sketch in Google Classroom.

Wednesday - create scene with your character and one of the characters we made in class.

Friday - Short story: Good Little Boy who did not Prosper. Setting focus

Monday - Memoir writing - 100 words on a time you failed - you will need to provide your lesson learned. Submit to Luttke for guidance on weakest to focus on from final rubric. Review pre-test for memoir unit in Schoolnet. 

If you are below a D in English 11 and you are NOT in a Fall sport you will be redirected to work on my homework on Monday afternoon rather than attend the afternoon school-wide assembly of Volleyball.
